The number one thing that women want when they come in to see me regarding the lip area is please fill in the lines around my mouth and please make my upper lip bigger. Â However, there are some other considerations that I would like to stress. Â First, in many women the lines around the mouth are almost imperceptible except to the patient herself. Â That is because she is putting on makeup really close up to the mirror and everything looks bad. Â In addition, our vocabulary for aging is focused on lines around the mouth as what we perceive as aging, as in “My mom has these lines, and I do not want to look like her.” (I hear that almost every day.) Â Now, obviously when the lines are very deep, they should be managed with Botox and fillers. Â I help make that judgment with my patients so that they don’t waste their money with me but are able to focus their hard-earned money on what counts. Read more
FAKE RESTYLANE

Hello Everyone,I felt obligated to write this blog after taking care of a nice young lady from the Caribbean islands who had Restylane performed in Miami last year and had flown in for me to do fat grafting on her yesterday. Â However, I could not, as I saw that her lower eyelid area was totally swollen and purplish blue. Â Apparently, the “Restylane” that she had injected in Miami was fake Restylane that was obtained from South America! Â Well, she has had intermittent swelling now since her “Restylane” was injected with ongoing problems. Â Read more
Sharon Stone Needs Fat Grafting or a Facelift? You Decide

IÂ thought this photo of Sharon Stone taken from the Internet is perhaps one of the most convincing images that aging around the eyes, cheeks, and jawline is due to volume loss of fat. Â You can see the brow is the in the same position (especially with a closely matched pose) but now there is exposure of the orbital rim bone compared with the FULLER eyelid contour. Â Therefore, why should we cut any skin or lift her brows? Â That would make her only look more gaunt and older, not younger and certainly different from the way she looked like in youth. Â Cheek bones are now visible when a nice cheek pad was present when she was younger. Â Can you imagine trying to put a cheek implant under the thin skin and prominent cheek bone? Â It would only look so much worse. Â As you can see, wrinkles (barely any) and neck descent (barely any) are not the reasons that she looks older. Â She simply needs fat grafting to recontour her face to match her old photo.
