NEW VLOG: DEFINING SAFE AND EFFECTIVE STRATEGIES FOR THE LOWER EYELID

I have seen too many problems with traditional lower eyelid surgery, especially with cutting skin of the lower eyelid through a “skin-muscle flap” approach.  This vlog is a companion piece to the previous vlog on safe upper eyelid surgery and the vlog on the new paradigm of looking at eyelid rejuvenation as a “balloon” and as a “shoreline”.  You can check these vlogs out in my new vlog section.  I hope you find these helpful.

PRESERVING, ENHANCING, CORRECTING EYELID CREASE POSITION

Traditional eyelid surgery and browlifting can fundamentally alter one’s identity and not provide the desired level of rejuvenation.  The eyelid crease height is a fundamental attribute to one’ s identity that can be preserved by matching old photographs and not altered in an adverse way. To understand how I evaluate the eyelid crease in all races, please watch this short vlog on the subject.  (Click on the vlog section to watch the video).

MY POSITION STATEMENT ON ARTEFILL

I have just produced a short vlog on why I do not use Artefill.  To summarize it, in my opinion Artefill, which is a permanent filler, has been too short a time on the market for me to feel comfortable with it.  In addition, the previous incarnations of it, Arteplast then Artecoll, have had numerous problems elsewhere in Europe and Canada sometimes years after the fact.  You have to wonder if a product touted to be permanent has undergone 3 major structural changes since its inception what is the safety of using it.  I prefer silicone microdroplets which have been around since the 1960s.  To me, that is much safer.  Of course, silicone can be badly done too, and I have personally corrected a lot of bad silicone work coming through my doors but fortunately not my own work.  Anyway, please watch the Vlog that I have put together on this subject for better clarification.  In the vlog, I also go through when I do and do not do solid implants.

Sub Toolbar Revised: VLogs Added

January 10, 2008 by dr. lam · Leave a Comment

I have decided to create a new toolbar that focuses on my Web 2.0 strengths for two reasons: 1.  I wanted a toolbar that was more aesthetically in alignment with the remaining website, 2. I wanted to put my Vlogs in a more prominent position given the importance that I place on them as a tool for communication.  By the way, I have added a new video journey (fat grafting and face lift).  It is the first one in my media center.

Vlog Reorganization

January 8, 2008 by dr. lam · Leave a Comment

From a question posed in my Forum regarding difficulty finding my Vlogs, I have added them under a category entitled “Video Log (Vlog)” under the Services category of the main menu on the website’s home page.  Hopefully, this will provide a more direct access to those interested in checking out my new Vlogs.  Otherwise, I have maintained my Vlogs in my media center as well.  Hopefully, you will find this redundancy helpful.  Please provide me feedback on how I can make this site more easily navigable, which is not easy given its size (close to 1700 pages now).
