I really like that viewpoint that the way we handle our view of the past that this can affect the way we view the present as being positive or negative. Excellent! I really like that point that the more we dwell on something that this consumes our awareness.

Golly, I can’t get over how similar this Maltz guy is to you, Dr. Lam! You guys are just twins. :)

I absolutely love your point about the statement, “I am the kind of person who…”. That is deep psychology and really is a huge indication as to what someone wants to do and puts that person in a state of mind to achieve the intended goal. That is really good psychology!

Hey, thanks Dr. Lam for making all this psychology stuff easy to understand and grasp. I really really appreciate it and I know a lot of other blog buddies do to. :)

Gee, Nord, you expect us to know just like that, all your internet savvy lingo?...lol Hey, nice to see you comment! Love ‘em!

Okay, all you blog buddies, have a great weekend!

Oh, I Am The Kind Of Person Who... (I guess it could be ITKOPW if using contraction.) ;) Tell you the truth, I used to think that leading sentence was usually used by somebody very full of themselves. New perspective, way to look at it here.

I really love your patient's description. My opinion-even when something IS directed to be taken personally, why do so? As a smart GF of mine often asks, "What's the alternative?" May as well not let much really hurt or bother us.

that is very cool. i had a patient who i recommended to read the 4 agreements and the power of now and he told me that they have changed his life. he said he can now breathe again like when he was 9 years old running in a field with his dad and that he can taste his food like never before. that is really amazing to me. btw, what does IATKOPW mean?

Oh, if you don't mind, I wish to add: since I've been working especially on the Ruiz wisdom of "not take it personally", I've had far fewer times I've needed to worry about fear. Cool how it works and I'm liking it A LOT.

This is so full of great ideas. Following your directive, I have another positive affirmation.

IATKOPW does not take counsel of her fears. (Thank you Dr. L, thank you Gen. Patton.)
