HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR!

February 7, 2008 by dr. lam

Year of the RatOkay, for you avid readers of my plastic surgery blogs, you can stop reading here.  This is a fun little entry to tell you guys Happy Chinese New Year (and nothing about plastic surgery)!  It is officially the Year of the Rat.  If you are 12, 24, 36, 48, 60, 72, etc. years old this year, it is your year.  Here’s more about your year if you are a rat:  ”You are imaginative, charming, and work hard to achieve your goals and are likely to be a driving perfectionist.  Although sometimes thrifty, you can be extremely generous with the one you love.  You are compatible with dragons, monkeys, & oxen but should avoid horses.”  Some well known rats include Marlon Brando, William Shakespeare, Truman Capote, Gene Kelly & George Washington.  My mom cooked a special Chinese new year banquet for my staff and all the staff of our building today.  (I will be uploading images from that party to the Staff Events and Retreats page later today.)  We had NEEN-GO which is a type of rice patty because the word sounds like “year higher” to indicate that this would be a prosperous year.  We also had egg rolls, which look like gold bricks, so that indicates prosperity.  So Happy New Year, Everyone!
