The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success Part 3 of 8: The Law of Giving and Receiving
April 14, 2010 by dr. lam
Giving and receiving are dynamic elements to all of life. When we hoard money or stay in a reclusive state, we deny this essential element of life and we stagnate. By participating in the relationship of life of giving and receiving we can be truly blessed.
We can start to give through many ways, not just monetarily. We can give a blessing each time we meet someone. We can offer assistance in monetary and non-monetary ways. We can look for ways to help someone. If we give with reticence, then we deprive ourselves of the energy that is behind that force. We must give with abundance and with love.
The best way to start is to give gratitude, a daily prayer of thankfulness for what we already have. If we can give gratitude, we can receive so much more. If we are abiding by the law of pure potentiality, then we see that we already have all that we need. Today, give something to someone else: love, affection, gratitude, a blessing, a flower, a prayer, money, time, assistance, wisdom, anything small or large but give and you shall in turn receive.

Thank you for the reminder!
I should always remember at your advice.
thanks irenke!
Great blog! I think that the process of giving can allow the giver to receive joy in return. I think giving allows someone to feel more content too. Reminds me of a Bible verse: (Proverbs 11:24-25) “One gives freely, yet grows all the richer; another withholds what he should give, and only suffers want. Whoever brings blessing will be enriched, and one who waters will himself be watered.”
Thanks for the great blog, Dr. Lam!!
Nice to have blog buddies!!
Good point, Heather. That one’s perfect here. This topic is so important for life, as often we may be keeping a ledger in our minds, adding, tallying each little thing without realizing it. No good comes from that, imo.
Also helps frame of mind during tax time. haha
lol Thanks Nord!!!
